DEALER CHARITY CAR

FOR THE BENEFIT OF BAILEY’S DAY

FAQ

What is Dealer Charity Car?
Dealer Charity Car is a vehicle recycling initiative by the Auto Recyclers Association Australia (ARAA) in conjunction with Bailey’s Day Charity, in support of children with cancer. Vehicles donated to Dealer Charity Car are auctioned to Professional, Environmentally Compliant Auto Recyclers in Australia. At the conclusion of the bidding process, you are provided with a Tax-Deductible Donation Receipt.

How will the dealership receive their tax-deductible donation receipt?
The recycler will pay the funds directly into the Auto Recyclers Association Australia’s holding account. ARAA will remit the funds to Monash Health/Bailey’s Day Foundation at the end of each month. The Monash Health Foundation will issue and send a tax-deductible receipt to the dealer.

What is the Bailey’s Day Charity?
Bailey’s Day raises funds for the Children’s Cancer Centre at the Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton, Victoria. Bailey’s Day is named after Bailey Tessier, who died of a brain tumour in 2004 at just two and a half years old. Click here to learn more about Bailey and the Bailey’s Day Charity.

Does the vehicle need to be complete?
Yes, the vehicle needs to be complete with no missing parts. If your vehicle is not complete, please contact Auto Recyclers Association Australia on 1300 623 466 to make sure the vehicle qualifies for the program. A missing battery or small parts will not affect the eligibility of the vehicle; however this may lead to a lower final bid.

Does the vehicle need to be in running condition?
The vehicle does NOT need to be in running condition to be eligible for the program. While helpful, it is not a requirement.

Does it matter what year the vehicle is?
No, recyclers will typically accept any year, make or model of vehicle.

How much money will the vehicle generate?
Recyclers value their bids based on the year, make, model and location of your vehicle. There are also certain recyclable materials which may increase the value of the vehicle above its perceived worth.

How do I know if the recycler has paid for the vehicle?
The recycler must pay the offered amount from their winning bid to ARAA’s holding account. When payment is received, ARAA admins will notify the dealership and provide proof of payment, allowing the dealership to release the vehicle.

Does the dealership incur any costs?
No, the dealership is not charged any fees for the donation, sale and removal of the vehicle.
